The films I'm excited for in 2016 - Part 1

Hey guys!
I have decided to split my "films I'm excited for in 2016" post into a quarterly series that I will do throughout the year because there are just so many films coming out in 2016, and you would probably forget by the time it gets to that date. So, this post will be about the films coming out in 2016 from January to March, and I must note that of course there are many films coming out this year, but these are just the ones that I am personally excited for. So here goes...

The Hateful Eight

A film by Quentin Tarantino is always going to be good one to watch, right? And this is definitely one of his films that I can't wait to watch, and I have already seen a few good reviews of The Hateful Eight so far.

The Hateful Eight follows the story of eight travellers in post-war America where they all meet in a stagecoach stopover whilst finding shelter from a blizzard. Bounty hunter John "The Hangman" Ruth and his fugitive prisoner encounter another bounty hunter, and also a man who claims to be a sheriff. However, they all learn that they may not all make it to their destination after all.

This film arrives in cinemas on 8th January.

The Revenant

The Revenant stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy, and has already won the top three awards at the Golden Globes; best dramatic film, best director, and best actor (Leonardo DiCaprio).

In 1823, Hugh Glass (DiCaprio) sustains injuries from a bear attack whilst exploring the wilderness, and his hunting team leaves him for dead. Glass must then use his survival skills to find his way back home to his family. He is fueled by his vengeance to track down John Fitzgerald (Hardy), who was part of the hunting team that abandoned him.

The Revenant arrives in cinemas 15th January.

Kung Fu Panda 3

I love the Kung Fu Panda films, because they are enjoyable to watch and who couldn't laugh at Jack Black's voice as Po the Panda? I was very excited when I learned that the third Kung Fu Panda film would arrive this year. And, if you're also a fan of the films then I bet you're just as excited too.

In the third film, Po reunites with his long-lost father, and he must train a village of clumsy pandas to help him defend the villainous Kai.

Kung Fu Panda 3 arrives in cinemas 29th January.

Deadpool

I cannot tell you how excited I am for the first Marvel film release of the year. From the multiple trailers released, Deadpool looks like it is going to be awesome and absolutely hilarious.

Deadpool follows the story of mercenary Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) who is subject to an experiment which leaves him with accelerated healing powers, and thus adopts the alter ego of Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and twisted sense of humour, Wilson then begins to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool arrives in cinemas 12th February.

Zoolander 2

Zoolander is an absolutely hilarious film! Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson's characters will not fail to make you laugh, and I purely can't wait to watch Zoolander 2 because it has been so long since the first film came out.

In Zoolander 2, models Derek Zoolander (Stiller) and Hansel (Wilson) must try to stop a conspiracy to kill the world's most beautiful people when an opposing company tries to take them out from the business.

Zoolander 2 arrives at cinemas on 12th February.

Gods of Egypt

I saw the trailer for this film on YouTube, it certainly caught my eye and looks like a good film to watch. Plus, it stars Gerard Butler, and I can't think of any bad films he's made in this genre, and also Brenton Thwaites for any Game of Thrones fan out there too.

Gods of Egypt is the story of the survival of mankind when Set (Butler), the merciless God of darkness usurps Egypt's throne and plunges the empire into complete chaos. A mortal young thief called Bek (Thwaites) hopes to save the world and save his true love who was taken captive by Set. He forms an alliance with the powerful God Horus and their epic battle takes places across the heavens and into the afterlife.

Gods of Egypt arrives in cinemas on 26th February.

London Has Fallen

London Has Fallen is the sequel to Olympus Has Fallen and looks to be as action-packed as the first film.

US Secret Service agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) is in London with the US President and they are attending the Prime Minister's funeral, who has died under mysterious circumstances. Whilst at the funeral, Banning discovers a plot by terrorists to assassinate all the attending world leaders and springs into action to prevent this.

London Has Fallen arrives in cinemas on 4th March.

The Divergent Series: Allegiant Part 1

I have not yet read the books of the Divergent Series which is something I should really get around to, but after already watching the previous two installments of the series I cannot wait to see what happens next.

In Allegiant part one, Tris and Four are venturing into the world outside the fence and are then taken into protective custody by a mysterious agency known as the 'Bureau of Genetic Warfare'.

The Divergent Series: Allegiant Part 1 arrives in cinemas 18th March.

All you have to do is watch the trailer for Batman v. Superman and you just know it is going to be one epic film!

Batman takes on Superman after he feels Superman's actions are left unchecked and both worlds contemplate what kind of hero they really need. Whilst they are fighting each other, Lex Luthor creates a new threat, Doomsday who is set to destroy Metropolis. Batman and Superman must set aside their differences, and with the help of Wonder Woman, must stop Lex Luthor and Doomsday.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice arrives in cinemas on 25th March.
