I purchased Urban Decay's newest palette as an early Christmas present to myself because I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and try it out. Now, I have had it for that long and haven't wrote a post about it yet (which you might also be thinking), but I wanted to use it first before I gave you my honest opinion. You can't really give a review on something when you've only used one eye shadow shade, can you?
First of all, I just want to comment on the design of the palette itself (as you can see in the pictures), and tell you how impressed I am with it. I love the simple design of it all really, as it is nothing too elaborate but from holding it in your hands you can tell the quality is there. My favourite part, other than the eye shadows itself, is the full-sized mirror that is in the lid, because I don't know about you but I hate having to peer into tiny mirrors when applying my make-up. So, with this palette you can easily apply your make-up and actually see your entire face whilst doing so!
So far, I have a couple favourite shades ('steady' and 'baby'), and already have my 'everyday go-to' eye shadow make-up look sorted with this palette. I think you can feel the Gwen Stefani vibes with the shades in this palette, especially with the names of the shades themselves! I have managed to create a lot of simple nude smokey eye looks using this palette, which is my favourite everyday look. But having a few colours like the 'harajuku', 'danger' and '1987' is great if you're looking for a look that pops (also perfect for the party season) and makes it an easy day-to-night sort of palette!
The eye shadows themselves glide on effortlessly, and you need only the tiniest amount on your brush to create your look, especially when using the darker shades 'blackout' and 'serious' because I have accidentally made myself look like a panda far too many times than I'd actually like to admit. I've added a picture of my most favoured quick daytime look using my favourite shades in this palette.
Overall, I am very impressed with this palette and would recommend to any beauty fans out there, especially if you love more nude looks (it has both matte and shimmer shades). The product has lasted on my face all day/night if I don't tend to rub my eyes in the meantime, so it's a winner for me and I cannot wait to keep using it. Well done to Urban Decay and Gwen Stefani on this one!
Have you used this product yet, and what do you think?
