Mascara dried up? A tip for you!

I have a little trick that I like to use every now and then, when my mascara has dried up and I want to get a few more uses out of it. So, if you have any mascaras lying around in your make up drawer and you want to get a bit more life out of them, I am going to share my quick tip with you.

 

Every time you use your mascara, air gets into the container and will slowly (emphasis on slowly here) lead to your mascara drying out, and you throw it away because you think there is nothing left in the container. However, that is usually rarely the case because there is always dried up mascara left on the sides on the container that your brush can no longer reach. So, here's what you do:

1. First of all, distinguish which mascaras have dried up by opening and checking them. 
2. Then, boil (or part boil) your kettle and pour water into a cup so it is 3/4 from the top.
3. Place your mascaras into the cup for a handful of minutes.

Finally, take your mascara out of the cup and test it out. You should find that all the mascara that was once stuck to the sides of the container has now melted and you can once again apply mascara from the brush.
And there you have it, a little more usage out of your mascara. It is quite handy if you only have one mascara and you haven't yet had chance to purchase a replacement. Usually, I have more than one mascara to hand just in case though!
