I have been waiting to watch Zootopia for a while now, after seeing the trailers earlier in the year, and I finally got to sit down and watch it. This film is known as Zootropolis in the US and worldwide but, the name had to be changed to Zootopia for the UK “to merely allow the film to have a unique title that works for UK audiences” according to Disney. I am not quite sure of the reasoning behind this, but Zootopia works for me!

Zootopia follows the story of Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin), who is the first rabbit to join the police force, and leaves her family home behind to be a cop in the big city of Zootopia 'where you can be anything'. Happy bunny Judy soon learns how hard it is to enforce the law, as she is put on parking duty. Keen to show off her skills and prove herself to her peers she takes on a mysterious case to find some missing animals. Judy teams up with a sly fox, Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman), as her only way of getting more information on her case, as she only has 48 hours to solve it before she is thrown off the police force. We follow the pair of them as they follow different leads to finding out what happened to the missing animals, and they soon uncover a secret plot.

I giggled my way through the entirety of Zootopia because it is layered with so much timely wit, that adults can enjoy it as well as children. Therefore, it is a surprisingly moving film that will entertain all age audiences. The animation is superb, and the plot even more so. Also, I have just found out that there are different news reporters in this film depending on which country you are watching it, e.g. it is a panda in the China release, a moose in the US/Canada release, a jaguar in the Brazil release. So, keep an eye out for this!!

The scene with the sloth at the DMV is one of my favourites - I just found it so hilarious! You will know if you have seen this film. So, I would definitely recommend a watch for all ages, and it is sure to lift your mood.
I would rate this film 8 out of 10.

Have you seen Zootopia/Zootropolis yet and what did you think?

Thanks for reading!
